There is a config file in Kerbal called "solarPanel.cfg" here you edit powerUnitsProduced and set it to the energy you need for all stations you need. I personaly set it to 5 but it should work with any number wanted. The Solar Panel now produce 5 energy units at anytime even without sunlight.

You can only “sort of” duplicate IRL ISS solar trusses. The issue is the real ones have two directions the can rotate; a major rotation of the entire truss around the Y axis, and then around the individual panels attached to the truss.

A deployable circular solar panel that produces 8 charge / sec would be nice. With 8 charge/second you can basically run one ion engine on full thrust per solar panel. Imagine you want 17 charge per second (2 ion engines), you would have to fit 10 of the little solar panels on the craft! But even one XL panel is too much!

@SergiiZaskaleta The optimal way to place them is one set of 4 and then offset the next set by 45 degrees on the far side of the vessel. That way, if it faces directly into the sun, you'll get all 8 panels in full sunlight and you can minimise overlap.
